Project 3531 - Formation programme

The Congregation of the Benedictine Missionary Sisters of Tutzing was founded in Germany in 1885. The first foundation in Africa was established in 1888 (Peramiho), followed in 1903 by a foundation in Brazil and then in 1906 in Manila. Today, the sisters have houses on four continents (Europe, Africa, America, Asia), in sixteen countries, with twelve priories and one hundred and twenty-eight missions.

The sisters at Peramiho provide educational support, run a health clinic and carry out various pastoral missions.

Request

The first foundresses shed their blood in Tanzania for their faith, and this is one of the places where the historical treasure of the Congregation resides. In order to inculcate and renew the missionary spirit in perpetually professed sisters of ten years and older, the Generalate, in cooperation with the two priories of Peramiho and Ndanda, has planned to offer a significant renewal programme that includes conferences and pilgrimages to important historical sites. The training will take place from 30 June to 21 July 2024, with 25 participants from the 12 convents and houses of the General District.

Financial assistance of €18,000 is required to bring this project to fruition.
