The president and the prioresses of seven member monasteries of the Monastic Congregation of St. Benedict (MCSB) attended the gathering of the Conference of Benedictine Prioresses (CBP) at Sacred Heart Monastery, Cullman, AL, February 1-8.

On March 3rd 2023, the mandate of Dom Aloysius Yokouchi Hiroshi as abbot of Phare (diocese of Sapporo, Japan) having come to an end, Dom Steele Hartman, Abbot of Tarrawarra and Father Immediate of Phare, appointed Father Franciscus Yoshimoto Kunihiko as Superior ad nutum of Phare.

On February 10, 2023, Brother Placid Okute made solemn profession at the monastery of Victoria (Uganda).

Rio Pardo

The Cistercian monks of the Abbey of Rio Pardo (Brazil) have elected Father Paolo Celso Demartini as Abbot of the community.

Shola

The Cistercian community of St. Joseph in Shola, Ethiopia, has elected Fr. Daniel Getachew Ghebremichael as the new prior of the community for a six-year term.
