On February 27, 2021, Dom Marco Antonio Maldonado completed his term as Prior of the Monastery of Jacona (Diocese of Zamora, Mexico). On the same day, the Community elected as Prior for a six-year term Father Florencio Navarro Navarro.

Dom Florencio was born in 1974 in Capilla de Guadalupe, Jalisco (Mexico). He entered Jacona in 2005, made his solemn profession in 2011 and was ordained a priest in 2016. At the time of his election, he was Novice Master.

BCC Online Meeting 2021

The Benedictine Commission on China (BCC) brings together representatives from Benedictine monasteries throughout the world to exchange information about the work of their communities related to China and to discuss cooperation on projects for China. The meeting is held each year at Sant’Anselmo on the first Saturday after Ash Wednesday; this year the meeting was held February 20, 2021. Because of the pandemic, the meeting this year was held online.
