On Monday 19 August the community of Itapecerica (Brazil) made a pilgrimage to the National Sanctuary of Aparecida in thanksgiving for the 45 years since their foundation.
On their return at 19.10, 8 bandits, who had violently beaten & tied up the man left to guard the monastery, entered the bus and asked for their bags, mobile phones, rings etc. Everything had to be placed in the central passage.
Mother Martha Lucia was then then made to leave the bus & take them to the cellarer's office. In the safe there were only some wristwatches, and in the office computer notebooks.
They were the same gang as attacked them before, but more of them.
They left the nuns locked in the garage with the bus driver and seized the community cars. Two of them were recovered, one the same day, Monday.
Once the nuns managed to break the garage padlock, they called the police, First Aid, etc. and went to the police station etc. The gang also took heavy garden machinery.
The community was terrified, but grateful their lives were spared, as also that of their employee. After receiving medical help, stitches, tests, he was able to go home.
May God protect and guard us, and our Lady touch the hearts of these young people who are so far from God.
