Project 3156 - Congregational Chapter
The Congregation of Oshikuku is a local Congregation in the Archdiocese of Windhoek, A young Namibian founded this Congregation in 1932. In 2014 the Congregation comprised 137 sisters. They are engaged in various apostolates such as teaching, caring for and administering hostels, and they also have their own school (Hospitality School). The sisters are engaged in pastoral works such as catechism, youth work, women and the care of orphans and vulnerable children.
The Hospitality School was opened in 2007 and serves young mothers and girls who have left school. They are formed in sewing, cooking, travelling and tourism, information and office work, English and African languages, and gardening. The aim is to get the participants started on a job or begin to work on their own.
The General Chapter of the Congregation will be held from the 5th to the 18th December, 2020. The total cost is estimated at €2,820 (food, equipment, participation of two officials to help run the chapter). The Congregation will need a subvention for the expenses of hospitality.
