Project 6601 - Annual meeting
In 1991, Abbot Gernot of Inkamana and Abbot Willibrord of Subiaco Abbey (Pietersburg) contacted all communities in Southern Africa and invited them to send a delegation to Inkamana to discuss ways and means of closer cooperation. The first meeting was held in March 1992. It marked the beginning of BECOSA. Since then meetings have taken place regularly every year. Today, BECOSA comprises of 4 male and 7 female Benedictine communities.
The next annual meeting will take place from February 18 to 24, 2019 at the Benedictine Missionary Sisters of Tutzing, Windhoek, Namibia, with the Benedictine Abbot Primate Gregory Polan and Dom Mark Butlin of the International Team of the AIM. Financial help will be needed for the good functioning of the meeting as well as for airfares to Namibia.
